Food Service Attendant II –
Larrabee Village Supportive Services

Westbrook Housing is seeking a Food Service Attendant at our Larrabee Village location. Larrabee Village is an apartment building that offers services including a daily breakfast and lunch. The Food Service Attendant assists with basic food preparation, performs duties in the dish room and pot washing station areas for sanitation, provides wait service to residents at mealtime and also performs various administrative functions such as recording receipt of meals, copying invoices and menus. This position also takes the lead when the Food Service Manager is off or absent. The individual in this position is considered to be essential staff and must report to work regardless of weather.

The Food Service Cook must work safely, with a positive and friendly demeanor and provide excellent customer service. The Candidate must support our mission of providing affordable housing.

This position offers a set schedule per week and is between the hours of 6:30 am to 1:30 pm. Competitive benefits are offered as well as time off and holiday pay. Starting pay is $18.75 and a flex benefit is paid to offset the cost of health insurance, increasing the pay to approximately $22.70 per hour. Shift Differentials for weekend shifts apply.

Maintenance Technician – Level II

Westbrook Housing is growing and we are adding positions to the team.  This position will perform a broad spectrum of maintenance and service related tasks to maintain their assigned facilities in a safe and sanitary condition, and in good repair.

The Maintenance Technician’s assigned tasks include:  conducting and documenting routine safety inspections, exterior grounds and landscaping work, interior/exterior painting, service and repair of plumbing fixtures, carpentry, and other general maintenance tasks as directed as well as janitorial duties for all facilities managed by Westbrook Housing.  The Maintenance Technician must be competent in the use of applications on mobile devices as communication, documentation, time accounting and information resources are accomplished with the use of a mobile device.

The individual filling this position is considered to be essential personnel, and as such must be able to participate approximately every six weeks in the off- hours, on-call staff rotation and respond immediately to emergency maintenance calls 24 hours a day while on-call.  Additionally, this position is tasked with reporting to work off hours when called by supervision to assist with winter storm recovery and in the event of an emergency.

The individual filling this position should be self- motivated and able to organize their day based upon established work order priorities.  This person will join a team of seasoned Maintenance Technicians who together maintain our apartment buildings and administrative spaces.  This is a full time, Monday through Thursday position with rotating on-call requirement.  A company vehicle is available during working hours and while on call or mileage is reimbursed for use of your own vehicle.  Must have a current driver’s license and good driving record.   Excellent benefits package, generous holiday and Time Off schedule is offered.  Starting pay is $24/hour depending upon qualifications and experience.  An on-call stipend is paid during the on-call rotation in addition to any on-call hours worked.  A flex benefit of approximately $4.50/hour is offered to offset the cost of medical insurance and families are covered by the organization.

Facilities Maintenance Director

Westbrook Housing is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Facilities Maintenance Director.  The position is responsible for the leadership and oversight of the Maintenance Department and the oversight of repairs and maintenance at all properties owned and maintained by Westbrook Housing.  

The position reports directly to the Property Management Director and there is a close working relationship with the Property Management Director and the Westbrook Development Corporation’s Construction Services/Owner Representative Director.  

The Facilities Maintenance Director must have strong administrative skills in planning, analytics and the ability to understand rules and regulations set forth by HUD, Maine Housing, OSHA and other regulating agencies.  The Director must also be proficient in math and budgeting and the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.   Strong supervisory skills are needed to coordinate and supervise the repairs and maintenance at all the properties owned and maintained by Westbrook Housing in order to lead the department in established objectives and priorities. 

The qualified applicant shall have seven years of relevant, progressively responsible experience as a building and grounds manager, or closely related responsibilities that include at least two years of direct maintenance supervision.  Certified Manager of Maintenance certificate is required or must be obtained within 18 months of employment.
